Montgomery County's Redevelopment Authority was established in 1958 as an independent governmental agency under Pennsylvania law by the Commissioners of Montgomery County. The Authority's principal purposes are assisting the County's townships and boroughs in stimulating economic revitalization and aiding in the provision of affordable housing through applications to state and federal sources. The Redevelopment Authority's activities are funded primarily through State and Federal Grant programs, reimbursements from municipalities and private sector entities for services provided to them by the Authority.

Montgomery County Community College: Founded in 1964, the College has grown with the needs of the community, building its Central Campus in Blue Bell in 1972 and then opening the doors of the West Campus in Pottstown, in the fall of 1996. Along with these two campuses, the College offers distance learning opportunities as well as courses at various off-site locations, including the Willow Grove Naval Air Station.
Job Corps is the nation's largest and most comprehensive residential education and job training program for at-risk youth, ages 16 through 24. Since 1964, the program has provided more than 1.9 million disadvantaged young people with the integrated academic, vocational, and social skills training they need to gain independence and get quality, long-term jobs or further their education. Job Corps is a public-private partnership, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor.
